Notice Regarding Investment of EPS Corporation in Helte Co., Ltd.

EPS Corporation (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Akira SASA; hereinafter “EPS”), a leading pharmaceutical development support company, hereby announces that it has underwritten a third-party allotment of new shares by Helte Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kashiwa, Chiba; President and Representative Director: Manabu GOTO; hereinafter “Helte”).
Helte has deployed "Sail", a "conversation and community service" that allows people in Japan to interact online with people around the world who are interested in Japan, to local governments that are facing social issues such as the isolation of the elderly and their lack of motivation to live, thereby encouraging the participation of the elderly in new communities.
EPS signed a business alliance agreement with Helte on October 7, 2022, for the purpose of integrating EPS's knowledge in the healthcare domain cultivated in the health industry with Helte's own "Sail" service and effectively utilizing the resources of both companies. The goal is to revitalize local communities by promoting the development and verification of new solutions to social issues such as the extension of healthy life expectancy.
In Japan, where the population is aging more and more, prevention of dementia, a major cause of conditions requiring nursing care, is expected to extend healthy life expectancy. EPS plans to develop a system to determine signs of dementia from voice data, focusing on the use of Sail for the revitalization of local communities and the use of voice data of the elderly.
We believe that this capital participation will strengthen EPS's collaborative relationship with Helte and accelerate its business development in preventive medicine.

EPS launched its business in 1991 as a CRO*1 to comprehensively support clinical studies with the focus on clinical trials and PMS*2.
